WHAT IS A LAB DIAMOND?

Cultured, man-made, lab-grown are all terms used to describe a diamond created using innovative technology that duplicates the natural growing diamond process. Chemically, physically, and optically they are identical to a natural diamond the main difference being the origin.

As cultured diamonds are grown in a highly controlled laboratory environment, they require zero mining to produce and have a much shorter supply chain resulting in lower price point.

All our lab-grown diamonds are created using an advanced technology that begins with a seed of a pre-existing diamond. These processes use either extreme pressure and heat (HPHT) or extreme heat and carbon rich gas (Chemical Vapor Deposition). Both processes and see a diamond rough begin to form in just under 30 days.

HPHT (High Pressure - High Temperature) process begins with a diamond seed that is placed in carbon and by using one of three manufacturing processes (belt press, cubic press or a split-sphere press) is then exposed to high temperatures of around 1500 degrees Celsius and pressurised to approximately 1.5 million pounds per square inch.

Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVP) is the process in which a diamond seed is placed in a sealed chamber and exposed to extreme temperature (around 800 degrees Celsius). The chamber is then filled with a carbon rich gas that sicks to the seed and begins to crystalise.

EXCELLENT VALUE

All our lab-grown diamonds are certified and graded using the same process as a natural diamond. Due to the smaller supply chain, lab diamonds offer consumers a lower price point for comparable size and quality of a natural diamond.

CONFLICT FREE

Man-made diamonds offer complete transparency of origin and supply chain. They have a much smaller carbon footprint than a natural diamond as they do not disturb the earth and require far greater waste to produce.
