MOISSANITE
MOISSANITE FAQ’S
To the untrained eye, it is extremely difficult to differentiate a moissanite from a diamond.
Diamonds are the hardest known mineral on earth measuring a 10 on the Mohs scale of hardness (a measure of a minerals durability from 1-10). Moissanites measure a very close second with a score of 9.25 – 9.50 making them also the perfect choice for everyday wear as the stone will not scratch, chip or cloud.
Neither a Moissanite nor a diamond is likely to increase in value. Both generally resell at a substantial loss-especially if they’re resold soon after being purchased. Because Moissanite is much less expensive, the total risk of loss is often lower than it is with a more expensive diamond.
